Mangkuyudan MJ III304 Yogyakarta *Email: rusitaendah489@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background: The growth and development of children is a problem that needs attention as an effort to prepare quality human resources. The birth length has an influence on the growth and development. Children with a birth length of less than 48 cm are at risk for impaired growth and development. Objective: This study aims to determine the correlation between birth length and the growth and development of children aged 24-59 months in the Ngombol Public Health Center, Purworejo Regency working area. Methods: This is an analytic observational study with a retrospective cohort design. The population of this research study is all toddlers aged 24-59 months in the Working area of the Ngombol Health Center, 2021. The variables in this study were birth length as the independent variable and growth and development as the dependent variable. The sample amounted to 88 children who were divided into two groups. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Result: The analysis showed a correlation between birth length and the growth of children aged 24-59 months with (p = 0.001) and a close correlation of 0.349. There was a correlation between birth length and the development of children aged 24-59 months with (p = 0.000) and a close correlation of 0.472. Conclusion: There is a correlation between birth length and growth of children aged 24-59 months in the Working Area of the Ngombol Health Center, Purworejo Regency, in 2021.
