ABSTRACT
Background: Antenatal care examination plays an important role for pregnant women
to prevent and detect early pregnancy complications. During the Covid-19 pandemic,
the anxiety level of pregnant women is quite high. Pregnant women are a vulnerable
group at risk of contracting the COVID-19 outbreak. Anxiety in pregnant women can
affect the health of the mother and fetus. Antenatal care (ANC) aims to obtain a safe
and positive pregnancy and delivery process.
Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the anxiety level of
pregnant women during the covid pandemic and compliance with ANC visits at PMB
Atik Murangan, Sleman Yogyakarta.
Methods: This research is a correlation analytic observational study using a cross
sectional design approach. The study population was 580 pregnant women who had
their pregnancy checked at PMB Atik Murangan. Calculation of the sample with the
Slovin formula obtained the results of 85 samples. The sampling technique used
proportional random sampling. The data analysis technique used chi square analysis.
Results: Pregnant women who experience anxiety tend to be disobedient in conducting
integrated ANC visits, namely 34.1%, higher than pregnant women who do not
experience anxiety, only 11.4%. Based on the chi-square test, it shows a p-value of
0.018 (p-value <0.05), meaning that there is a significant relationship between the level
of anxiety and the level of compliance with ANC visits at PMB Atik. The odds ratio
value of 0.247 (95% CI = 0.080-0.788) means that mothers who experience anxiety
have a 0.247 times tendency to disobey in ANC visits compared to pregnant women
who do not experience anxiety during ANC visits during the Covid pandemic. The
factors of age, parity, education, occupation, family income, husband's support, family
support and health worker support have a significant relationship with compliance with
ANC visits. Meanwhile, the factor of residence distance or the affordability of health
facilities did not have a significant relationship with ANC visit compliance during the
Covid-19 pandemic at PMB Atik Murangan, Sleman Yogyakarta.
Conclusion: Anxiety of pregnant women has a significant relationship with compliance
with ANC visits during the Covid-19 pandemic at PMB Atik Murangan, Sleman
Yogyakarta.
