ABSTRACT Background: Elderly is someone who has reached the age of 60 (sixty) years and over. The elderly are more at risk of experiencing various diseases, especially degenerative diseases. One of the most common degenerative diseases suffered by the elderly is hypertension. Hypertension is characterized by the results of blood pressure measurements showing a systolic pressure of > 140 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of > 90 mmHg. Hypertension is also called the dark killer or silent killer. Therefore, a solution is needed to reduce blood pressure in the elderly by providing hypertension exercise interventions through nursing care for hypertensive elderly with impaired fulfillment of activity needs. Objective: Obtain real experience in implementing Hypertension Exercise in Fulfilling Activity Needs for Elderly Mrs. P with Hypertension in the Working Area Puskesmas Godean I Yogyakarta in accordance with evidence based nursing/evidence based practice. Method: Case study with a nursing process approach carried out on 31 October – 4 November 2022. The implementation of Hypertension Gymnastics in the Elderly Mrs. P was carried out 3 days in a row with a duration of 30 minutes. Results: Based on the results of the case study and the implementation of nursing, meeting the needs of Mrs. P’s activities can be carried out optimally and Mrs. P’s blood pressure has decreased from 151/93 mmHg to 135/80 mmHg. Conclusion: the application of hypertension gymnastics in fulfilling activity needs through the nursing process approach to Mrs. P with hypertension can be carried out properly because of the client’s will and commitment, so that goals are achieved as expected with the specified results and time criteria.
