THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT PREMARITAL SEX IN CLASS X AND XI STUDENTS AT SMK YPKK 1 SLEMAN YOGYAKARTA

ABSTRACT
Background: Premarital sex cases have an impact on unwanted pregnancies. The number of adolescent birth cases in Indonesia reached 46.9% of 1,000 adolescents aged 15-19 years. The DIY Health Office recorded an increase in teenage pregnancy cases, from 611 cases in 2020 to 758 cases in 2021. Sleman Regency has the highest cases in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (24.4%). Lack of knowledge about sex can lead to wrong perceptions that can encourage adolescents to try sexual behavior.
Objective: Know the level of knowledge about premarital sex in class X and XI students of SMK YKKK 1 Sleman.
Method: The method used is descriptive research with a cross sectional research design. The subjects in this study were 94 students at SMK YPKK 1 Sleman on June 7, 2023. Data collection was obtained from the results of a questionnaire on Premarital Sex.
Results: The results showed that based on the level of knowledge about premarital sex, students had good knowledge as many as 12 respondents (13.3%), sufficient knowledge level as many as 52 respondents (57.8%), and less knowledge level as many as 26 respondents (28.9%). Based on the overall characteristics aged 16-19 years (100%), as many as 44 respondents (48.9%) father’s education is secondary education, as many as 47 respondents (52.2%) mother’s education is secondary education, as many as 61 respondents (67.8%) father’s income is low income, as many as 76 respondents (84.4%) mother’s income is low income, and almost half get information from electronic media, namely as many as 44 respondents (48.9%).
Conclusion: Based on research that has been conducted shows that most respondents have a sufficient level of knowledge, which is as many as 52 respondents (57.8%).
