Background; According to WHO (2018) Preeclampsia and eclampsia cause 58.1%
of maternal deaths in the world which occur in pregnancy and childbirth. Of the
585,000 maternal deaths in the world annually. Preeclampsia is a serious health
problem for pregnant women worldwide. Preeclampsia affects 2-8% of
pregnancies. Factors that cause preeclampsia are maternal age, parity, history of
complications, chronic disease, and antenatal care prenatal care.
Research Objectives: It is known that there is a relationship between parity and
the age of pregnant women on the incidence of preeclampsia at Bangka Tengah
Hospital in 2022
Research Method: Cross sectional design. The population of all pregnant and
giving birth mothers at Central Bangka Hospital in 2022 is 421 mothers. The
sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 80 people. Data
collection with secondary data. Data analysis used the chi square test.
Results of the study: The chi square test conducted on the relationship between
age and the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women at Central Bangka
Hospital, obtained a Chi square of 0.227 p value > 0.05. This means that there is no
relationship between age and the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women at
Bangka Tengah Hospital. The Chi square test conducted on the relationship
between parity and the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women at Central
Bangka Hospital obtained a Chi square value of 0.044 p value > 0.05. This means
that there is a relationship between parity and the incidence of preeclampsia in
pregnant women at Bangka Tengah Hospital.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between parity and preeclampsia but there is
no relationship between age and preeclampsia at Bangka Tengah Hospital in 2022.
