Background: patient safety is a system that makes patient care more secure, including risk assessment, identification, and management related to patient risk, incident reporting and analysis, able to learn from incidents and implementation. Through the standard precautions of prevention and control of infections at the hospital, one of them with the management of linen in the operating room. Objective: to know the relationship of nurse knowledge about standard precautions: linen management with linen management behavior in operating room of Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten. Method: non experimental quantitative research type, because it uses the method of analytic observation and no intervention or planning on the respondent. Sampling technique with total sampling of 48 anesthesia and surgical nurses. Analysis using chi square. Results: respondents’ knowledge of standard precautions: management of linen showed poor as many as 43 samples (89.6%) and linen management behavior showed good as many as 45 samples (93.7%). The result of chi square test is 0,372 correlation coefficient and p value 0,542 (p> 5%). This shows the nurse’s knowledge of standard precautions: the management of this linen has nothing to do with the behavior of linen management. This is because the behavior is good because it has experience and has been accustomed to the management of linen. Conclusion: there is no relation between nurse knowledge about standard precautions: linen management with linen management behavior in operating room of Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten Keywords: knowledge, standard precautions: linen management, behavior
