The skin is the outermost consitituent of the human body organ that is located at the outside and cover the entire surface of the body. The skin serves to protect the surface of the body, maintain body temperature and remove certain impurities. Given the importance of skin as a protective on organs, the skin should be kept healithy. Besides the skin also has aesthetic value. Skin diseases can be caused by fungi, viruses, bacteria, parasites and other animal. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge and behavior of students about personal hygiene with the incidence of skin diseases in Islamic boarding schools. The method used in this study is the survey. Research sites in boarding Islamic boarding school jonggrangan, RT 03/RW 18, Sumberadi, Mlati, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta. Object of this study were residents of the boarding school student. The study was conducted by interviewing santri to find out the behavior of santri and a history of skin diseases, then conduct assessment using a questionnaire to determine the level of knowledge of santri regarding personal hygiene to the skin. The results of this research is based on the analysis using Chi Square with 95%, showing that the level of knowledge of the santri is sufficient, the result of the santri’s behavior are sufficient, and from 92 santri there were 72 santri who had a history of skin diseases, and as many as 20 santri had no history of skin diseases. The manager is expected to provide education and implementation to santri. It wa expected that santri do not borrow or wear blankets and clothes together with student who suffer from skin diseases.
