CORRELATION OF PATIENT ANXIETY LEVELS WITH DENTAL EXTRACTION MEASURES IN THE DENTAL CLINIC OF PUSKESMAS Arismunandar*, Suharyono, Aryani Dental Nursing Department of Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta Tatabumi Street No. 3 Banyuraden, Gamping, Sleman Email : arismunandar.link@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background: Anxiety is the body’s response to threats from the outside environment. Anxiety disorders cannot be considered as a form of ordinary anxiety, because this is classified as a mental disorder. The object of the cause of anxiety cannot be known specifically, but an unclear imagination of fear and restless in a matter can trigger anxiety. Anxiety in patients can inhibit of dental extraction measures. Research Objective: Knowing the correlation between patient anxiety levels with dental extraction measures in the dental clinic of puskesmas. Research Methods: This study was descriptive analytic using a cross sectional design. The study was conducted in November-December 2018. The population was patients who came to dental clinic for receive dental extraction measures. The sample obtained was 35 people. Data analysis using non-parametric correlation test of kendall tau. Research Results: The category of severe anxiety level was dominated by a number of 5 female respondents (24%). Groups aged to 27-34 years many obtaine of severe anxiety levels as many as 4 respondents (21%). Respondents with a junior high school/MTs education level have a category of severe anxiety level many more than to other levels of education (33%). The results showed an existance of correlation between the patients anxiety level with dental extraction measures (p <0.05). The value of r count is 0.797, greater than the value of r table and positive so that as higher of anxiety was felt by patien then the failure in dental extraction measures more be higher too. Conclusion: There is a significant and tightly of correlation between patients anxiety and tooth extraction. Keywords: anxiety level, dental extraction measures.
