Background :Wanteks Textile Dyes can be used as an alternative dye in the examination of Ascaris lumbricoides worm eggs. This is because Wanteks Textile Dyes contain Rhodamine B compounds. Wanteks Textile Dyes have the same color as Eosin, namely red with an acidity level of 5.4 which is able to color the eggs of Ascaris lumbricoides worms which are amphoteric (can react and act as acids or bases). Wanteks Textile Dyes have been known to be able to color Ascaris lumbricoides worm eggs at a concentration of 2%, but the stability of the dyes when stored for a certain period of time is not known, so this research needs to be carried out to determine the stability of the storage time of Wanteks Textile Dyes 2% as an alternative dye to replace Eosin. 2% on examination of Ascaris lumbricoides worm eggs.
Aims :To know the stability of the storage time of Wanteks Textile Dyes 2% as an alternative dye to replace Eosin 2% in the examination of Ascaris lumbricoides worm eggs.
Method :This type of research is observational. The main material used is Wanteks Textile Dyes red with a concentration of 2% and stored in a transparent plastic container with a lid at room temperature, then the absorbance value was measured for 12 weeks using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 520 nm. The data were analyzed descriptively using a standard deviation graph, and statistical tests using statistical data processing software Mann Whitney U Test with a degree of accuracy of 95%.
Research result :The results showed that the absorbance value that was included in the stable criteria was the absorbance reading at week 0 to week 8. In Wanteks Textile Dyes 2% after storage for 12 weeks at room temperature was stable until the 8th week using a standard deviation chart. There is no significant difference from the Mann Whitney U statistical test results.
Conclusion :.Wanteks Textile Dye 2%after storage for 12 weeks at room temperature was stable until the 8th week. Quality of DyeWanteks Textile 2% after storage for 12 weeksis still quite good and can still be used as a dye in Ascaris lumbricoides egg preparations but has decreased from its initial quality.
